Villa Avellano offers affordable and comfortable bed and breakfast accommodation and is aimed at couples or groups of friends who would like to see more of Spain than just the beach. The location of the Villa makes an ideal base for holidays whether you choose to visit the cultural delights of Malaga or Granada or just enjoy the natural parks a short drive away. There are plenty of trails for mountain biking, hiking or places for bird watching in the surrounding hills.

Villa Avellano is in the village of La Alquería which was once a town of sorts in its own right, beginning as a 3rd Century BC Iberian hill fort and flourishing for a while under the Romans before petering out around 200AD. Nevertheless, there are still vestigial remnants of Roman masonry in the area, though many of them are now on private land and out of reach. The village has 2 bars within easy walking distance where there are a good selection of tapas available. There is also the 27 hole Lauro golf course again within walking distance (depending on the heat) or under a 5 minute drive , which offers excellent golf, a driving range and refreshments in its historic courtyard.

The two Alhaurins Alhaurin de la Torre and Alhaurin el Grande are equal distance (7 Km +/- ) from the villa, Grande is proud of its history and culture whereas Torre has conspired to hide its past and even the tower that gave it its name has gone. Both however have lots to offer with a variety of restaurants, tapas bars, and local shops to suit most people.

The beach and all the attractions of the Costa are just 20 minutes away (Torremolinos) or 45 minutes if you prefer Marbella. Malaga is just 30 minutes away and offers something for everyone from Picasso and Cathedrals to shopping centers and El Corte Ingles. The Ave high speed train now also makes Madrid and Cordoba within easy reach.

Accomodation & Facilities

Our accommodation offers a choice of :

• 2 double bedrooms (super king size beds with memory foam mattress toppers)
• 2 twin Rooms (single beds - slightly larger rooms with balcony)

All rooms have:

• Bed linen - High quality Egyptian cotton
• Ensuite bathrooms fitted with toilet, bidet, shower and wash hand basin
• Hair dryers, towels, toweling bath robes and basic toiletries.
• Good views and the two twin rooms have balconies.

Tea and coffee are available whenever you like at no extra charge and there is a honesty bar in the living room.

We have freeview English television available in the lounge plus a wifi connection( not the fastest but it works) which you are welcome to make use of.

Outside there are terraces with sun loungers and seating so there is always a shady or sunny spot ( most days) to relax in. The pool is great fun during summer months and helps keep everybody cool.

For breakfast there is a selection of cereals, bread, fruit or full English with eggs from our own chickens. Breakfast is normally 8 till 10.30 but times are flexible by prior arrangement.

To secure your booking. A non-refundable deposit of 25% of the total booking is made.

Take note

Allergy sufferers - We do not use feather bedding but we do have a cat and a couple of dogs and they may be in the living room, but never in  guest bedrooms,
